  • ILM 286 Fundamentos del Diseño: This is an introductory graduate level course in creative thinking about formal methodology for engineering design in a global context focused on conceptual design. This course is a project-based approach to the engineering design of products and processes that satisfy specific customer needs. Students are given a problem area in which to innovate and will be led through the process of understanding customer needs, scoping technical and business concerns, investigating cultural, and global factors, searching external and internal sources, developing new concepts, and selecting a conceptual design for further analysis. Course participants gain background in the engineering design methodology and develop creativity, teamwork, communication and leadership skills, which are embedded in the course.

  • ICM 381 Diseño Mecánico: This is an introductory graduate level course in the development skills and attitudes for engineering design in a local-global context. This course is a project-based approach ICM 381 Diseño Mecánico: This is an introductory graduate level course in the development skills and attitudes for engineering design in a local-global context. This course is a project-based approach Students are given a problem area in which to innovate and will be led through the process of understanding customer needs, scoping technical and business concerns, investigating cultural, and global factors, searching external and internal sources, developing new concepts, selecting a conceptual design, evolving a detailed design, materials selection, prototypes and report. This course will focus on detailed design. Course participants gain background in the engineering design methodology and develop creativity, teamwork, communication and leadership skills, which are embedded in the course.

  • IWM 276 Manufacturing Processes: this is an introductory graduate level course in which the way to develop the planning and management of manufacturing processes in a company that produces goods is analyzed. The students have to analyze, evaluate and conceptualize aspects related to quality, productivity and profitability of manufacturing processes. This course is offered to students of Mechanical Engineering.

  • IPM-430 Introduction to biomaterials. This is an post gradute level course focused in the science and engineering of biomaterials, its evolution and applications in biomedic field. The students will be led through the fundamentals of nanobioengineering to produce functional biomaterials: metals, ceramics, polymers and composite materials. The students have to develop an experimental Project in nano-bio structured systems, implementing a broadly spectra of experimental techniques for the síntesis and characterization of bio-nano materials.
